Riyadh: where can I eat something tasty?

Russian version

In this article I will share with you the list of my favourite places to eat outside. Riyadh has a variety of nice restaurants but I am a picky person 🙂 That is why the list contains only those places I enjoy visiting.

  • Najd Village — this is a traditional restaurant (to be more precise, a branch of restaurants) of traditional Arabic cuisine decorated in the national style.
I have visited it nearly 5 times, but I am always happy to return because the food is tasty (though simple). The decoration is nice and looks cool on Instagram 🙂 That is why it’s destination #1 for my guests.

Pricing: affordable, but the portions are quite huge, so it’s better to go with a group of friends.

Location: google maps (the link for the central one, but there are two other restaurants in Riyadh, so just insert «Najd Village» in google maps and go to the nearest one)

Working hours: daily from 11:00 till 23:59.
No need to book in advance (could be busy during the peak hours).

  • Cipriani — Italian restaurant, my love from the first bite 🙂

Pricing: expensive, but worth it.

Location: google maps.

Working hours: daily from 13:00 till 00:15.
Book in advance by calling 0112776700.
For holidays and celebrations it is worth booking a week in advance, because the tables get quickly booked. And yes, this restaurant is the best for the Valentine’s Day! Come and try 😉

Cipriani

  • Myazu — Japanese restaurant. We go there whenever we miss Japan. Honestly, this is the closest to the original taste we have ever tried outside of Japan. Worth visiting at least once, though we are ready to come back here every month 🙂

Pricing: expensive.

Location: google maps.

Working hours:
Sunday-Wednesday: 13:00-23:59
Thursday-Friday: 13:00-01:00
Better to book in advance by calling 920009686.

  • Offwhite Riyadh Front — Lebanese cuisine. Our favorite is eggplant Fattah. It makes us come back again and again 🙂
Note: the taste is different in other restaurants of the same branch, so I am recommending this location only. The other dishes are also nice.

Pricing: average.

Location: google maps.

Working hours:
Saturday-Thursday: 14:00-01:00
Friday: 13:00-02:00
No need to book in advance.

  • Urth Cafe — nice café to meet friends or sit down with your laptop. «Eggs Salmone» drives crazy me and my friends who I introduced to it. It’s basically bread with salmon, avocado and pieces of fresh melon.
If you are not too hungry, one dish is enough for two. Other dishes are also nice 🙂

Pricing: average.

Location: google maps (multiple locations in Riyadh and Jeddah).

Working hours:
Saturday-Wednesday: 08:00-23:59
Thursday-Friday: 08:00-02:00.
No booking needed 🙂

  • Breakfast Club — the name speaks for itself 🙂 This nice cozy restaurant is open till 4 pm and is perfect for a family brunch on a Friday morning. The food is yummy (especially our favorite Turkish Eggs!), which is why the place is always crowded.

Pricing: average.

Location: google maps.

Working hours: daily 06:00-16:00.
Theoretically you can book a table through Requeue app, but I have never learned how to use it. That’s why we just arrive there and give our phone number to a hostess. After that we go shopping, and wait for a call. Approximately, it takes 15-30 minutes to get a table. The food is worth the waiting 🙂

  • Paul — nice patisserie, where you can have a Bavarian tart or croissant with the cappuccino. The name is international, so you have probably already visited it in other countries 🙂

Pricing: average

Location: there are dozens of these cafes in Riyadh, so just look around whenever you are in a mall 🙂

Working hours: depends on a particular location, check google maps.

  • Pinkberry — my favorite café with the frozen yoghurt. Just believe me and try their parfait! Their advantage is that you get to select the type of yoghurt (strawberry, pomegranate, mango, vanilla…), decorations and the filling (granola, raspberry, kiwi, strawberry, marshmallows, blueberry, mango, chocolate, waffles, etc..)
There are other offers of yoghurt dishes, but I always end up buying my favorite 🙂

Pricing: affordable (35 SAR approximately).

Location: Inside Granada Mall next to the main entrance (google maps).

Working hours:
Saturday-Thursday: 09:00-23:59
Friday: 13:00-23:59.

That’s it for now, but I will add new favorite places to this list 🙂
