You have entered my blog about life in Saudi Arabia.
Unfortunately, when many people come to Saudi Arabia for the first time — either for a conference, business trip, or on a small adventurous vacation, they have a lot of worries (and sometimes even fears), as well as misconceptions about this gorgeous country.
I will confess, the same thing happened to me, when in 2017 I had to travel to Riyadh for a workshop. My Mom was afraid to let me go, because all what we imagined was sand, camels and probably a female slave market. I was surprised when I saw a modern country with high standards of living and welcoming people. I fell in love with it and decided to stay here. It took a while, and finally in 2021 I moved to live and work in Riyadh.
These days, the Kingdom is opening for foreigners, but the tourism industry is still in its early days. So I often get questions from my friends who want to visit the country: «Is there anything to see in Saudi Arabia?»
In this blog, I am planning to collect all my discoveries — both in Riyadh and in the Kingdom as a whole, to facilitate the process of discovering the country for the adventurers like me 🙂
Please don’t judge it — I am doing it for free after work, and hope it will be useful.
